The US-Asia Institute hosted its Annual Lunar New Year Celebration on February 2, 2012 at the US-Asia Institute in Washington DC.

Senator of Hawaii Daniel Akaka was the Guest of Honor in recognition of his 33 years of support and partnership with the US-Asia Institute.  Other speakers included Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade Michelle O’Neill, Congresswomen Judy Chu (D-CA), Congressman Michael Honda (D-CA), Ambassador of Japan to the U.S. Ichiro Fujisaki, Ambassador of Vietnam to the U.S. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, and Ambassador of The Philippines to the U.S. Jose L. Cuisia Jr.

Guests mingled with old and new friends, celebrating the Year of the Dragon together and the beginning of another successful year for strengthening U.S.-Asia relations.
