The majority of the US-Asia Institute’s Congressional staff delegations travel to China. Since 1985, USAI has coordinated over 75 delegations and exchanges between the United States and China. The success of our delegations rely on close cooperation with our Chinese partners: the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the Better Hong Kong Foundation (BHKF) and the National People’s Congress (NPC).

Over 800 Congressional staff members have travelled to China on USAI delegations. The delegations have travelled to nearly every corner of China, including Xinjiang and Tibet, and have covered a wide range of themes of great importance to US-China relations.
