The IMPACT! Program was launched this year by the US-Asia Institute in partnership with the Philippine Embassy as an unprecedented opportunity to empower Filipino-American young adults for political leadership in the 21st century. During the orientation, a wonderful array of speakers from Capitol Hill, think tanks, government agencies, and nonprofits shared their professional experiences and answered questions to help the IMPACT interns develop a stronger understanding of how our government works and how they can make a difference in American politics and the AAPI community as Filipino young women. Despite being unable to fulfill their internships in person in Washington, D.C., the interns have an exciting summer ahead of them!
