Decision 2020: The Role of Pollsters/Forecasters and the Media in U.S. Elections

In this webinar about the roles of pollsters, forecasters, and media in U.S. elections, Kyle Kondik, Managing Editor at Sabato’s Crystal Ball and Dr. Regina Lawrence, Associate Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon, discussed the ways in which media and pollsters have encountered new challenges predicting the outcomes of the upcoming election given the current unprecedented historical circumstances and their current indicators for election analysis. The speakers touched upon the patterns that the media can still rely on for accurate prediction as well as the areas that media and forecasters must adapt to given new scenarios after the 2016 Election, COVID-19, and the evolving political landscape in the United States.
