This special public briefing, hosted by the US-Asia Institute featured Dr. Deepa Ollapally, Professor of International Affairs at the Elliott School at George Washington University and Ms. Lisa Curtis, Senior Fellow and Director of the Indo-Pacific Security Program at the Center for a New American Security to discuss the economic and political crises in Sri Lanka since the April 2022 economic default. This session provided an overview of the circumstances leading up to the turmoil and discussed the geopolitical implications for the Indo-Pacific and American interests in the region.
