Her Excellency Battsetseg Shagdar, a member of US-Asia Institute's Global Leadership Board, recently presented her credentials to the President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel. She was recently named as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Cuba. During the presentation of her credentials, Ambassador Sh. Battsetseg extended Mongolian President Kh.Battulga’s warm regards to President Díaz-Canel and reminded him of the invitation from the President Kh.Battulga to pay a visit to Mongolia at his convenience. Emphasizing that Cuba - the first country in the Americas to establish diplomatic ties with Mongolia 60 years ago - has a major role in connecting Mongolia with South American countries. The Ambassador will work to strengthen friendly relations between Mongolia and Cuba, placing more emphasis on bilateral cooperation especially in the health care, education and science sectors.
