Mongolian - U.S. National Civic Engagement Program Requirements:
1. Candidate qualifications
Age 18-25 years old
Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing OR recently completed degree
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
Leadership ability and good interpersonal skills
Record of community service or interest therein
Written and spoken fluency in English
Mongolian descent
2. Required Documents
Candidates will submit:
Resume with photo
One page Statement of Intent and Impact: Why they want to participate in this program and what impact it might have on their future.
A copy of most recent transcript
A copy of ID, passport or other official documents as proof of US citizenship or permanent residency
A copy of parent’s ID, passport or any official document as proof of Mongolian descent
One letter of recommendation (For example, from a professor, an employer, or a community leader)
3. Selection process:
1) A selection committee comprised of qualified individuals from the Mongolian Embassy and the U.S.-Asia Institute will consider the applications. Qualified candidates will be contacted directly for a phone or video conference interview with the selection committee.
2) Final candidates will be contacted directly by mid February 2023 and the results will be announced on the Mongolian Embassy and US-Asia Institute websites
